Senator Tedisco passes Senate Resolution honoring Stillwater High School Boys Basketball Team and welcomes them to NYS Senate Chamber

Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C-Ballston Lake) today honored the New York State Class B Stillwater High School Boys Basketball Team on the Senate Floor and passed a resolution commemorating their state championship season.

Coached by Bruce Lilac, the Stillwater High School Warriors defeated Marcellus High School in a hard-fought 59-50 victory to win their second championship in program history on March 15th at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls, New York.

Prior to their capturing the state title, the team won the Wasaren League with a 16-0 record and finished the season with an outstanding overall record of 27-1.

The Stillwater Warriors were also recognized for their academic achievements as a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Team, garnering an overall team grade point average above 90 percent.

“The Stillwater Boys Basketball Team had an incredible championship season that will be remembered for a long time. I’m proud of this team and to welcome and honor them on the Floor of the New York State Senate,” said Senator Jim Tedisco, who was a former athletic director, basketball coach, and record-breaking basketball player at Union College and Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady.
